SUMMARY: President Yoweri Museveni has called upon Ugandans to reject corruption and make decisions based on principles and national interests rather than short-term financial incentives, which are likely to distort democratic outcomes. “Why should you be influenced and throw away your power to elect your desired candidate? Therefore, when you see someone bringing you money that you elect, avoid them. You have the power, don’t throw it away,” the President said.

JUDICIARY TRAINS 300 MEDIATORS TO DISPOSE OF CASES

SUMMARY: In a bid to decongest courts of law, the Judiciary has trained over 300 mediators, including religious leaders, to promote Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and dispose of cases within the next two weeks.

BOU HANDS OVER UGX 430M RENOVATED HEALTH CENTRE

SUMMARY: Bank of Uganda, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, has officially handed over the newly renovated Ayago Health Centre Ill to the Lira city community.

The project, aimed at enhancing maternal and child health care, included the refurbishment of key infrastructure such as the outpatient department, the administration block, and the maternity ward. It also involved the supply of essential medical equipment to improve health service delivery at the facility.
