SUMMARY: Hundreds of mechanics and garage owners in Kampala are set to benefit from an equipment and cash boost from President Yoweri Museveni. Yiga Kisakyamukama, the Special Presidential Advisor on Monitoring and Service Delivery, while meeting members of Mechanics and Garage Owners Association at Twin Tower Hotel in Makerere-Kavule on Monday, said the President will extend support of UGX 5b to the group.

SUMMARY: According to the State House comptroller, Jane Barekye, President Museveni was prompted to initiate the project in order to support the less educated and underprivileged youth in Kampala to acquire skills which in turn would help them overcome the unemployment challenge. At Kigoowa Skilling Centre in Kampala, the Government’s free skilling programme has given more people new hope and opportunities for the future.
