EC ISSUES NEW GUIDELINES FOR ASPIRING CANDIDATES

SUMMARY: The Electoral Commission (EC) has set new tough guidelines for Presidential and Local government aspiring candidates as the electoral process enters a critical stage of nominations and campaigns. According to the new guidelines, all presidential aspiring candidates should submit a list of 100 supporters from the 98 districts for verification not later than today (September 10).

CID BOSS RALLIES SCHOOL TEACHERS ON PATRIOTISM

SUMMARY: The Criminal Investigations Directorate Boss, AIGP, Tom Magambo, has rallied 1,114 secondary school teachers from eight districts of western Uganda to embrace patriotism and socio-economic transformation. “Our historical mission is to fight poverty and ensure national stability. However, loving Uganda, East Africa, and Africa will pave the way for a prosperous Uganda,” Magambo told the teachers.

RDCS CAUTIONED AGAINST FUELLING EVICTIONS

SUMMARY: Resident District and City Commissioners [RDCs and RCCs) in the Bunyoro sub region have been cautioned against siding with land grabbers to forcibly evict people from their land. Hajji Yunusu Kakande, the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the President, warned the RDCs to stop colluding with investors and land grabbers to carry out illegal evictions.
