NITA-U LAUNCHES ‘BEERA KU GUARD’ TO BOOST CYBERSECURITY AND DATA PRIVACY

SUMMARY: The “Beera Ku Guard” campaign, launched by National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-U) in partnership with Personal Data Protection Office (PDPO), aims to promote responsible digital behavior and public trust as part of Uganda’s Digital Transformation Roadmap (2023/24–2027/28) and the Data Protection and Privacy Act. It seeks to reach 70% of the population, engage over 100,000 citizens, and support the registration of 1,000 data-controlling organisations with PDPO by 2026.
