Summary: The governments of Uganda and the US yesterday signed a co-operation agreement for funding the health sector to the tune of $2.3b (about UGX 8.1 trillion). According to the five-year deal that starts next year, about $I.7b (about UGX 6 trillion) will be contributed by the US and $600m (about UGX 2.1trillion) will be contributed by the Government of Uganda.

Summary: The President reassured the people of Masindi that the Government will fast-track their urban development needs, especially the long-awaited roads and market infrastructure. He noted that Masindi District was left out of the earlier Uganda Support to Municipal and Infrastructure Development (USMID) programme, but under the new initiative, it will be considered.
