The Presidency August 2025

In this edition, we bring you key highlights of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s engagements and initiatives throughout August 2025 showcasing his continued commitment to improving the livelihoods of Ugandans, strengthening the economy, and deepening international cooperation.

The President has championed industrialisation and value addition, endorsing the establishment of a prepaid water metre factory to expand access to clean water, commissioning the Wagagai Gold Refinery in Busia to ensure minerals are fully processed in Uganda, and directing new policies to streamline the tea and sugar sectors for the benefit of farmers.

On the agriculture and wealth creation front, he launched a plan to turn his demonstration farms into centres of excellence for the four-acre model, urged fair cattle compensation in Teso and Northern Uganda, and pledged stronger support for fishing communities, sugarcane farmers, and tea growers to lift households out of poverty.

The President has also prioritised community empowerment, extending direct financial support to market vendors in Wobulenzi, Lukaya, and beyond, while also backing initiatives such as the Teso Widows Development Initiative with resources for skills training and livelihood projects.

Internationally, President Museveni advanced strategic partnerships, holding bilateral discussions with Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to boost trade, investment, and Nile cooperation, and reaffirming Uganda’s role in promoting Pan-African solidarity and regional stability.

From supporting ordinary vendors to attracting multi-million-dollar investments, the President’s work this month reflects a consistent vision: Transforming Uganda through industrialisation, agriculture, community empowerment, and regional cooperation.

As we look ahead, Ugandans can expect more emphasis on wealth creation at household level, increased investment in value addition, and stronger partnerships that position Uganda as a leader in the region.
