Dubbed the Kiira Vehicle Plant (KVP) Open Day and e-Mobility Expo, the event will be a celebration of innovation, a nod to sustainability, and a peek into the future of transportation in Uganda and beyond.

It is important to note that this will be the first-ever e-Mobility Expo, a groundbreaking event that is setting the stage for a greener future. Imagine being able to tell your grandkids you were there when Uganda first unveiled its commitment to electric mobility. This event marks a significant milestone in Uganda’s journey towards embracing electric mobility, offering immense potential for reducing the nation’s carbon footprint and creating new economic opportunities while fostering innovation.

In addition, this expo will be an opportunity for players to meet and greet the movers and shakers of the industry. Rub shoulders with over 200 industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers. It will gather potential customers, suppliers, policymakers, investors, and the public to discuss Uganda’s readiness to adapt to the e-mobility revolution.

The expo will further more feature a series of fireside conversations drawing content experts in the fields of e-financing, carbon trading, energy, and e-mobility infrastructure development. These sessions are not just for the tech geeks; they are for anyone curious about how we can make our world a little greener and a lot smarter. The Open Day provides an opportunity for participants to tour the state-of-the-art Kiira Vehicle Plant, which currently has the capability to produce 2,500 vehicles annually, with plans to expand this capacity to 5,000 vehicles per year in the medium term. This ambitious expansion underscores Kiira Motors’ commitment to driving the future of sustainable transportation in Africa. The plant is set to be officially launched on 8 October, 2024, marking a significant milestone in Uganda’s e-mobility journey. Guests at the expo will get a behind-the-scenes look at the production lines, meet the engineers and designers who make the magic happen, and maybe even catch a glimpse of some top-secret projects that are still under wraps.

And last but not least, the expo will provide a platform for attendants to check out the cool rides. From the Kayoola EVS buses to the Kayoola Coaches, get up close and personal with the vehicles that are driving Uganda forward. Kiira Motors has made impressive strides, producing a total of 39 buses, including 25 Kayoola EVS buses and 9 Kayoola Coaches. These buses are not just functional, they are a testament to what happens when cutting-edge technology meets visionary thinking.
