The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) joined the rest of the world to commemorate World Standards Day 2024, highlighting the critical role of standards in promoting quality, safety, and innovation. This year’s theme, “Shared Vision for a Better World: Spotlight on SDG 9,” emphasises the importance of quality infrastructure, sustainable industrialisation, and innovation in achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
UNBS marked World Standards Day 2024 by awarding 26 companies certified against ISO 9001:2015—Quality Management Systems and Integrated Management Systems for their commitment to quality excellence.
Top Honorees:
• CWG (Uganda) Limited and Securex Agencies (U) Limited were among the first to receive this prestigious recognition.
• Eagle Air Limited, Sino Africa & Medical Devices Limited, and Uganda Management Institute (UMI) also made the cut, demonstrating their dedication to quality management.
• Other notable awardees included Uganda National Meteorological Authority (UNMA), Hema Beverages Limited, and Pharma Sourcing Limited.
