Today represents an important step forward as the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development (MGLSD), in collaboration with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), officially hands over and launches the Migrant Workers Support Centre.
This centre is poised to be an essential resource, offering comprehensive and innovative solutions tailored to the dynamic needs of migrant workers.
The Centre will guide and support individuals and families throughout their labour migration journey. It will also serve as a symbol of inclusivity, respect, and opportunity. – Hon. Esther Davinia Anyakun, Minister of State for Gender, Labour, and Social Development (Labour, Employment, and Industrial Relations)

It will play a crucial role in assisting Ugandans who are pursuing work opportunities abroad and will provide valuable support for returnees as they reintegrate into society, helping to facilitate a smooth transition.
“The Centre will support migrant workers, returnees, and their families by facilitating smooth reintegration and providing vital resources to keep track of loved ones abroad.” – Undersecretary, Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development
In addition, the centre will serve as a vital link for families, enabling them to stay informed about the movements and well-being of their loved ones overseas.
