The delegation was led by Mr. Liang Hongda, NORINCO’s General Manager of the African and American Department.

During the meeting, both sides took a moment to reflect on their enduring strategic partnership, which has spanned an impressive 38 years since its inception in 1986. Gen. Kainerugaba congratulated NORINCO on its remarkable achievement of becoming the largest aerospace and defence company globally, with an annual revenue exceeding $82 billion. This milestone underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and excellence.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss their long-standing collaboration, which has been instrumental in enhancing the capabilities of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF). The two sides explored ways to further strengthen their partnership, building on their shared history of trust and cooperation.

In a gesture of goodwill, the Chinese delegation extended an invitation to Gen. Kainerugaba to visit China, marking 14 years since his last visit. This invitation symbolises the strong bonds between the two nations and their defence forces.

The meeting was also attended by Brig. Gen. Dan Kakono, the UPDF Artillery Division Commander, who played a crucial role in the discussions. The gathering reinforced the commitment of both nations to maintain a strong and enduring partnership, fostering regional stability and security through their continued cooperation.
