Uganda Airlines Expands Reach to Abuja, Nigeria, Boosting Regional Connectivity

Uganda Airlines is expanding its reach to Abuja, Nigeria, which is a significant part of its expansion plan. The new route will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, using the airline’s modern Airbus A330-800neo aircraft.

The CEO of Uganda Airlines, Ms. Jenifer Bamuturaki, expressed pride in connecting Nigeria to Uganda and vice versa. Abuja is the airline’s second destination in Nigeria and the fourteenth overall in its network, indicating a commitment to providing efficient and affordable air services to facilitate business, tourism, and leisure travel across Africa.

“We are proud to be living up to our promise to take Nigeria to Uganda and bring Uganda to Nigeria.”

This new service is expected to bridge the connectivity gap between Abuja and East Africa, opening up seamless connections to other key destinations such as Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Mombasa, Mogadishu, Mumbai, and Dubai.

Uganda Airlines’ commitment to expanding its reach and promoting regional connectivity is highlighted through this new route, with the airline expected to play a crucial role in fostering economic ties and cultural exchange between Uganda, Nigeria, and other African nations.

Uganda Airlines is the primary national passenger and cargo carrier of Uganda, established in 2019. The airline offers scheduled air transportation services within East Africa and to nearby international markets. Uganda Airlines received the World’s Youngest Aircraft Fleet Award from Chaviation for the years 2020 through 2024.
