THE PRESIDENCY FEBRUARY 2025

Must Read

Welcome to the February 2025 edition of The Presidency, your trusted source for updates on Uganda’s progress under the leadership of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

This edition highlights President Museveni’s call for Africa to achieve food self-sufficiency, emphasising the need to utilise local raw materials for food production and processing rather than relying on imports.

In infrastructure development, the President commissioned the Mirama-Kabale high-voltage power line and its substation in Rubanda District, underscoring the importance of wetland conservation for sustainable hydropower generation.

President Museveni also presided over the swearing-in of nine newly appointed judges at State House, Entebbe, stressing the need for a justice system rooted in Uganda’s cultural and historical context rather than relying solely on Western legal models.

Continuing his nationwide Parish Development Model (PDM) assessment tours, the President visited the Kigezi and Ankole Sub-regions, urging residents to prioritise wealth creation and household income enhancement. He also encouraged residents to adopt the four-acre model for improved livelihoods. Additionally, he inaugurated the Kigezi Zonal Industrial Hub and   Ankole Zonal Presidential skilling Hub aimed at equipping Ugandans with skills to combat poverty.

This edition underscores President Museveni’s steadfast commitment to wealth creation and self-reliance as key drivers of Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.
