President Museveni’s Stance on Corruption and Celebrating Achievements

Must Read

During a celebration of his 38 years in leadership, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni addressed the issue of corruption in the country. He identified key individuals such as Permanent Secretaries, Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs), Town Clerks, and Gombolola Chiefs as the main perpetrators of corruption in Uganda. President Museveni vowed to combat corruption and ensure accountability.

“These four groups are in charge of government money, personnel, jobs, and procurement. Unfortunately, they have let themselves down, but we are here to crush the corrupt,” President Museveni declared.

In addition to addressing corruption, President Museveni highlighted his achievements, including providing security for all, mass immunisation programmes, improved health infrastructure, and free education for all Ugandans. The event, which took place at the Kololo Independence Grounds, was attended by thousands of supporters.

“We have implemented our idea of security for all because our line is a line of the masses. We have also been able to roll out mass immunisation, and as I speak today, there are 14 vaccines being given to the people,” President Museveni said.

The First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Maama Janet Museveni, expressed gratitude for President Museveni’s leadership, attributing it to a higher purpose, and praised God for choosing President Museveni to lead and build Uganda.

“God has been kind to Uganda because He is the one who determines what happens on earth. He chose Yoweri Museveni to lead and build Uganda,” she said.

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, and NRM Director for Mobilisation, Hon. Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde, also commended President Museveni for his leadership and achievements.

“We thank you for the stewardship you have given to this country. We pray to God to continue giving you health and strength to see us through,” Todwong said.

“We celebrate your achievements and legacy. Your Excellency, good work is worth recognition,” Seninde said.

President Museveni’s strong stance against corruption and his emphasis on celebrating his achievements reaffirm his commitment to Uganda’s development and his determination to fight corruption. His resolute declaration to “crush the corrupt” reflects his dedication to maintaining accountability and transparency in governance.
