SUMMARY: Electricity and roads were some of the issues on President Museveni’s mind. “We have two debts with Obongi, and one is electricity,” He said. Money has been secured to bring electricity to Obongi. We are going to use a World Bank loan to do this,” President Museveni said, adding that the project is at the procurement stage. They are doing procurement, looking for the right company for the work. That debt is paid because the money is already there.

SUMMARY: Director General of Uganda Civil Aviation Authority, Bamwesigye revealed that Uganda’s air traffic has increased from just over 105,000 passengers in 1991 to more than 2.3 million last year, while cargo volumes rose from 47,000 to 67,000 metric tonnes. He highlighted UCAA’s investments in infrastructure, including the first phase of airport upgrades and a soon-to-be-commissioned 20,000-square-metre terminal building.
