Summary: The Attorney General, Kiryowa Kiwanuka, has launched the Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) guidelines which streamline the cooperation between Uganda and other countries in handling of transboundary crimes. The guidelines include a procedure for making a mutual legal assistance request, which should be in writing and clearly state the nature of the request, the relevant legal provisions and the purpose of the assistance being sought.
