President Yoweri Museveni has lashed out at persons propagating lies about the rationalisation policy, saying they left undone what they ought to have done and did what they ought not to.
The President’s statement comes after a heated debate on the National Coffee (Amendment) Bill 2024 resulted in Speaker Anita Among adjourning the House sine die (until further notice) on Thursday. The Bill, which was moved to the committee stage in the House, seeks to merge the Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) into the Agriculture Ministry.

Uganda is set to become the second-fastest growing economy in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2025, a new study by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has revealed.
The October 2024 Economic outlook database report, which IMF released last Saturday, says Uganda will grow at 7.5%.

The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) with support from the European Union (EU)
installed solar systems worth UGX 149m in schools of children with special needs to guarantee their safety, especially at night.
The Manager Business Development at KCCA, Edison Masereka said that they have so far installed four multi-million shilling solar systems in four schools around the city and Wakiso District.

Uganda attracted the largest share of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the five years to December 2023, a report by the East African
Community (EAC) Secretariat shows.
The BAC Trade and Investment Report 2023, which highlights prospects for enhancement of trade and investment, indicates that between 2019 and 2023, majority of EAC member states experienced an annual increase in FDI inflows, resulting into the creation of 677,575 jobs, of which 31.1 were created in Uganda.
