Summary: The Government has called for applications to fill 3,426 new vacancies in primary and secondary schools across the country. Of these, 2,852 personnel including teachers and support staff will serve at the 92 newly constructed seed secondary schools countrywide, whose operation will commence in the first term of next year. Each of these new seed secondary schools will receive 31 staff, including headteachers and their deputies. They will also have teachers and support staff such as bursars.

Summary: The Government has saved UGX.140b by utilising the locally produced Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) kit developed by Makerere University scientists in 2021. Summary: The Water Ministry has made significant progress in restoring degraded wetlands countrywide. The restoration is attributed to the intensification of wetland restoration interventions, an increase in lake water levels and increased political support towards wetland restoration activities. In 2021, the wetland mapping results indicated that wetlands in Uganda cover a total area of 33,762.6km2, which is 13.9% of Uganda’s total area. This makes an increment of 0.9% from the last mapping exercise of 2015, which was 13% of Uganda’s surface area.
