SUMMARY: Uganda’s economy has continued to grow steadily despite global, regional and domestic challenges, with Finance Minister, Hon. Matia Kasaija reporting gains in exports, tourism, investment and overall economic performance. Updating the country on the state of the economy yesterday, Hon. Kasaija said Uganda had demonstrated remarkable resilience, posting growth across nearly all key sectors, including agriculture, services, industry and investment.

SUMMARY: The Head of Public Service and Secretary of the Cabinet, Lucy Nakyobe, has said the Government should stop granting contract extensions to senior officers after retirement, insisting such positions should be left for younger officers still in active service.

SGR CONSTRUCTION TO BRING UGX 4.3 TRILLION INTO ECONOMY

SUMMARY: construction of the 273km section of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) from Malaba, on the Kenyan border, to Kampala will bring UGX 4.3 trillion into the Uganda’s economy, officials have said.
