Muhoozi Kainerugaba, yesterday commissioned the construction of five-storey twin office blocks at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs headquarters in Mbuya, Kampala. The construction will be executed by the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) Engineering Department at a cost of UGX. 94B. Gen. Kainerugaba implored the Engineering Department to ensure that they complete the building on time.

SUMMARY: Uganda’s coffee exports surged to an all-time high in July, providing a much-needed boost to the country’s export earnings. According to the Uganda Coffee
Development Authority (UCDA) coffee report, a total of 821,593, 6okg bags of coffee valued at $210.48m (about sh78ob) were exported in July at an average price of $4.27 (sh16,000) per kilogramme, 21 US cents higher than $4.06 (shi5,000) per kilogramme in June, and $1.56 higher than $2.71 per kilogramme in July 2023. This was an increase of 26.15% and 98.68% in quantity and value respectively compared to the same month last year.
