Summary: The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) have rescued 40 people, mostly women and children, from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebel captivity. The joint rescue operation took place on Monday, after a fierce fight in Biakato, Mambasa territory, 67km Northwest of Beni in Ituri province, according to the UPDF Mountain Division and Operation Shujaa Spokesperson, Maj.
