PRESIDENT WARNS LANDLORDS AGAINST EVICTIONS

Summary:  President Yoweri Museveni has warned landlords to cease evictions or face the full wrath of the State. Speaking to residents of Buikwe District during the conclusion of his Parish Development Model tour in Greater Mukono, President Museveni told landlords to stop evicting lawful tenants (bibanja holders) and forcibly taking part of their land, adding that such actions are illegal and will not be tolerated.

Summary:  President Yoweri Museveni, through his Industrial Hub Initiative, piloted skills training across the five divisions of Kampala, with a primary aim of empowering young people, especially women, many of whom are illiterate. These industrial hubs spread across 19 regions in Uganda, training young people in a range of skills, including fabrication and welding, shoemaking, embroidery, among others.

OVER 2,000 ILLEGAL GAMING MACHINES DESTROYED

Summary:  The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) has begun destroying 2,347 illegal gaming machines this week at Luweero Industries in Nakasongola, as part of its ongoing national campaign to eliminate unlicensed gambling operations in Uganda.
