SUMMARY: Six months after the Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) took over electricity distribution from Umeme Limited, the Government has made 648,404 new connections to the national grid.

SUMMARY: As part of the structural adjustments, the Government has reduced the levels of reporting in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) from seven to five. Some entities had six reporting levels, but they have still been reduced to five. While the changes affected largely directors, the new government structure has created new positions in certain areas.

The proposed changes are based on a new study by the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC).

HOIMA STADIUM NEARS COMPLETION

SUMMARY: Plans to hand over Hoima City Stadium to the government are accelerating, with the multi-sports facility now confirmed to be over 92% complete. This follows the successful fitting and installation of the running track, which had been the last major piece missing in the 20,000-seater stadium.
