Summary: The United Nations (UN) has allocated Uganda $4m (about UGX.15b) to build resilience and enhance the adaptive capacity of the urban poor against adverse climate change effects and disasters. The offer was announced during the just concluded 12th session of the World Urban Forum by UN-Habitat, which took place on November 4-8 in Cairo, Egypt. Finance Ministry Permanent Secretary, Ramathan Ggoobi confirmed the development yesterday.

Summary: After billions of monies remaining on the account unutilised, the Finance Ministry has approved a withdrawal of UGX. 193.8b from the Petroleum Fund to finance Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) roads. This funding will enable the contractor to commence building of the stadium to be ready before the deadline of December 31, 2025.
