SUMMARY: Patrick Ayota, the NSSF managing director, said back in 2015, the fund had projected it would reach just UGX 20 trillion by 2025.”We thought we would be at UGX 20 trillion by June 2025, but we ended June 2024 at UGX 26 trillion, UGX 6 trillion above target,” Ayota said. The growth was driven by higher member contributions, which rose 10.4% to UGX 2.13 trillion, and total revenues that increased from UGX 3.2 trillion to UGX 3.5 trillion.

SUMMARY: The Aga Khan’s two-day official visit will feature the launch of the Aga Khan University and the commissioning of the construction of the Aga Khan Hospital. He is also scheduled to meet with the Ismaili community in Uganda. During his welcoming remarks, Museveni reflected on the Aga Khan’s long-standing relationship with the Ismaili community, recalling his first encounter with them in Ntungamo District many years ago.

SUMMARY: Karamoja sub-region and Lamwo District hold substantial amounts of gold, rare earth minerals and base metals, a new survey conducted by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development shows. According to the high-resolution airborne geophysical survey, whose results were unveiled at the energy ministry offices in Entebbe municipality on Tuesday, the discovered deposits have the potential to economically transform Uganda.
