SUMMARY: President Yoweri Museveni has extended more financial support to roadside market vendors in Luwero and Nakasongola districts. For the last three years, the President through State House has been offering support to various roadside market vendors on major highways like Gulu, Hoima and Mityana, to boost their household incomes.

UNBS COMMENDS 42 SMES FOR EMBRACING CERTIFICATION AGENDA

SUMMARY: The Uganda National of Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has commended 42 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for certifying their quality management systems in food safety. UNBS executive director Eng. James Kasigwa said certification enables SMEs to improve competitiveness and unlock regional and continental markets like the African Continental Free Trade Area.

GOVERNMENT TO CONSTRUCT 15.6KM MPIGI -MUDUMA ROAD

SUMMARY: The Government has officially commenced the tarmacking of the Mpigi-Muduma road, aimed at improving connectivity and enhancing the overall quality of road infrastructure in the district. The 15.6km road is being constructed by Chinese firm Zhongmei Engineering at a cost of sh60.17b. The project is expected to be completed within 18 months and is funded through the World Bank-supported Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area Urban Development Programme (GKMA-UDP).

UGANDA JOINS GLOBAL 50-IN-5 CAMPAIGN TO ADVANCE INCLUSIVE AND INTEROPERABLE DIGITAL INFRASTRUCTURE

SUMMARY: The Government of Uganda, through the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, is proud to announce its participation in the global 50-in-5 initiative a collaborative effort to accelerate Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) adoption over five years. Uganda will showcase how UG-Hub, its data exchange platform, has supported the Parish Development Model in transforming lives through equitable access to investment funds.
