CDF, ABUDHABI EXPERTS DISCUSS SPACE SECURITY

SUMMARY: The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has met with a high-level delegation from MIRA Aerospace of Abu Dhabi at the Special Forces Command (SFC) headquarters to discuss potential co-operation in Space Security and Communications. The CDF welcomed the delegation, stating that this engagement demonstrates mutual desire to strengthen ties between Uganda and the United Arab Emirates.

SUMMARY: The Secretary, Office of the President, Hajji Yunus Kakande, has called upon Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Resident City Commissioners (RCCs) and District Internal Security Officers (DISOs) to recommit themselves to their constitutional mandate of safeguarding peace, monitoring government programmes and ensuring effective service delivery at the grassroots.

SUMMARY: In his keynote address, President Museveni acknowledged the challenges of corruption, especially in regard to the distribution of PDM funds, and some issues of crime, but declared that the NRM had both the capacity and determination to push Uganda into a “Qualitative Leap” towards high middle-income status. “But also, we are going to increase the PDM funds to UGX 300m per parish per year and provide UGX 15m per parish for leaders to borrow,” President Museveni told the cheering crowd.
