Hoima District:
· It has 14 Sub-Counties/Town Councils, 55 Parishes and 319 villages.
· The population of Hoima District is 257,544 according to the census report 2024.
· In the last 2021 Presidential Elections, Hoima District had 90,617 registered voters. Out of these, 55,703 (61.3%) voted.
· His Excellency polled 38,431 (72.9%) while NUP polled 10,973 (20.8%). The others polled 3,328 (6.31%).
· In 2025, Hoima District has a total of 123,929 voters. The Polling Stations are 290 up from 173 in 2021.
Hoima City:
· It has 2 Sub-Counties/Town Councils, 16 Parishes and 146 villages. The population of Hoima City is 143,304 according to the census report 2024.
· In the last 2021 Presidential Elections, Hoima City had 62,018 registered voters. Out of these, 36,059 (58.1%) voted.
· His Excellency polled 19,751 (57.1%) while NUP polled 11,662 (33.7%). The others polled 3,196 (9.23%).
In 2025, Hoima City has a total of 73,163 voters. The Polling Stations are 164 up from 112 in 2021

It has 16 Parishes with all the 16 hosting at least one Government primary school. Hoima City has 33 Government primary schools.

It has 6 Government secondary schools and 45 private secondary schools. All the 6 Government secondary schools Provide Universal Secondary Education and Universal Post Ordinary Level Education and Training with a total enrollment of 3,398.
Hoima City:
It has 5 Government secondary schools and 30 private secondary schools. All the 5 Government secondary schools Provide Universal Secondary Education and Universal Post Ordinary Level Education and Training with a total enrollment of 6,076.

It has 14 Sub-Counties, with 6 hosting at least one Government secondary school, while 8 Sub-Counties are still lacking.

It has 2 Sub-Counties with all the 2 hosting at least one Government secondary school.
CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
Hoima is benefiting with the construction of 4 Seed Secondary Schools. With the completion of these 4 Seed Secondary Schools, Sub-Counties without a Government secondary school will reduce from 8 to 4.
HEALTH SECTOR
Hoima District:
Out of 14 Sub-Counties in Hoima District, 01 has a HCIV, 9 have HCIIIs and 9 HCIIs. However, 5 Sub-Counties of; Bwijanga, Kyabigambire, Bombo, Kigorobya and Kijongo, do not have any Health Facility of either a HCIII, HCIV or a Hospital.
The following are planned under Hoima District:
· Upgrade Kigorobya HCIV to a General Hospital.
· Upgrade Buseruka HCIII in Bugahya Constituency to a HCIV.
· Upgrade Kisabagwa HCII in Kyabigambire S/C to a HCIII.
· Upgrade Kibiro HCII in Kijanga S/C to a HCIII.
· Construct new HCIIIs in Bombo, Kigorobya and Kijongo Sub-Counties.
Currently ongoing constructions at Hoima District:
· Rehabilitation of Doctors house at Kigorobya HC IV.
· Rehabilitation of two staff quarters at Kigorobya HC IV.
· Completion of Kigorobya HCIV Maternity ward/general ward.
· Construction of a theatre at Kigorobya HCIV.
· Renovation of Mparangasi HCIII maternity ward.
· Renovation of Mparangasi HCIII staff quarter block.
· Renovation of staff quarter at Dwoli HC III.
Hoima City:
Out of 2 Sub-Counties in Hoima City, 01 has a Regional Referral Hospital (RRH) and 3 have HCIIIs. Therefore, all the Sub-Counties have Health Facilities of either a HCIII, HCIV or a Hospital.
The following are planned under Hoima City
· Upgrade Buhanika HC III in Hoima East Constituency to a HCIV.
· Upgrade Karongo HCIII in Hoima West Constituency to a HCIV.
Currently ongoing constructions at Hoima City
· Renovation of City Mortuary.
· Construction of New Maternity Ward at Karongo HCIII.
· Renovation of health staff quarters at Buhanika Health Centre III.

Hoima District:
· It has 01 HCIV in Kigorobya Constituency with 3 Doctors. It also has an ambulance.
Hoima City:
· It has 01 Regional Referral Hospital.
Presence of Functional X-Ray
· There is a Functional CT scan. X-ray machine was decommissioned. But a new X-ray machine has been procured and under shipment with 4 Radiologists at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital, Hoima City.
Availability of a Functional ICU Unit/Beds
· There is 01 ICU Unit with 6 functional beds at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital, Hoima City.
Functional Oxygen Plant
· There is an old functional Oxygen Plant at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital with the capacity of 15 cubic meters (m³).
WATER SECTOR
STATUS OF RURAL WATER SUPPLY
· Out of 319 rural villages in Hoima District, 248 have access to a safe water source, representing an average coverage of 78%. This leaves 71 villages (22.25%) without access to safe water.
Completed interventions;
· Completed Phase III Construction of Kibanda mini solar powered Piped Water System (PWS) serving 1,800 persons.
· Constructed the Kipapati Mini Solar-Powered Piped Water Scheme in Kitoba Sub-County serving over 1,350 persons.
· Kinogozi Town Council (TC) Piped Water Supply and Sanitation System – serving 8,501 people.
· Kabwoya Piped Water Supply System – serving 9,300 people.
· Other completed water supply systems include:
Ø Butema WSS – serving 1,192 people
Ø Kapaapi WSS – serving 2,500 people
Ø Buhamba WSS – serving 3,646 people
Ø Buraru WSS – serving 2,300 people
Ø Chorigambe WSS – serving 6,000 people
Ø Bisenyi WSS – serving 3,509 people
Ø Wairagaza WSS – serving 3,094 people
Ø Kinogozi RGC WSS – serving 4,450 people
Ø Buhanika RGC WSS – serving 1,789 people
Ø Kigorobya RGC WSS – serving 2,468 people

· Protected 15 springs in the Sub-Counties of Kitoba, Kigorobya, Buhanika and Kapaapi.
· Drilled 25 deep boreholes (Kyabasengya, Kigaaga P/S, Buraza, Kiryawanga, Kitegwa B, Karungu, Kibaire Mosque, Kyamabara, Lyato Lower, Bigando, Buraru CoU P/S, Kabatindule, Kasambya, Kyamuzizi, Nyaituma upper, Kyampaka/Nyairiba, Gamukanyire, Kibuguru, Kisonde, Kisiramu, Kyamasamba, Bukona P/S, Nyamundeija, Katoke and Kapaapi P/S).
· 2 public latrines constructed (Katema TC and a 3-stance lined VIP Latrine in Runga village).
· Implemented and completed public and institutional sanitation facilities in Kabwoya and Kinogozi, contributing to improved hygiene and public health outcomes.
Ongoing Interventions:
· Drilling of 04 deep boreholes (Iseisa P/S, Kihoro-Kawango, Kyamabara and Kabaale public P/S).
· 3 springs protected (Nyakera, Nyakabale and Kigaaga B).
· Construction of Kibanda piped water system in Kiganja sub county, and Kibanjwa/Kyarusura solar powered PWS in Kitoba Sub-County.
· Rehabilitation of 07 water sources being (Karungu, Kakoda, Katereiga P/S, Isiriza, Kateete, Kyebagira and Kyampaka).
· Construction of Kigorobya Town Council.
Future plans;
· Expand service coverage to Buhimba TC and Kinogozi TC, increasing the population served by these water supply systems.
WATER FOR PRODUCTION
Completed Interventions
· Tibigambwa Solar powered irrigation schemes Busisi Kihukya Parish covering 8.2 acres and producing 10.3 tons of maize, tomatoes, beans and coffee and generating up to 8.4mm annually.
· Rwamutunga Solar powered irrigation in Buseruka Sub- County, Nyakabingo Parish covering 14 acres.
· Bwizibwera Solar powered irrigation system in Kyabigambire Sub-County, Kibugubya Parish covering 10 acres.
ENERGY SECTOR
Hoima District and Hoima City are now connected to the National Grid.
· Out of 14 Sub-Counties/Town Councils in Hoima District, 12 are connected to the electricity.
In the next kisanja, government will extend electricity to 2 Sub-Counties of; Kiganja and Kijongo in Hoima District without electricity.
