UGANDA, KOREA SIGN $500M LOAN AGREEMENT

Summary: The Republic of Korea has signed a framework agreement for a $500m (about UGX.1.8 trillion) loan to Uganda for the years 2024 through 2028. The agreement was signed on Wednesday by finance minister Hon. Matia Kasaija on behalf of Uganda, together with the Korean foreign affairs minister, Cho Tae-yul. The loan will be provided by the Korean Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) through the Korea EXIM Bank.
