Summary: The Government has offered tuition loans to 1,196 students. The programme, which has been running for a decade, will see the total number of beneficiaries increase to 14,601 students this year. The beneficiaries will enrol for science courses at 23 Government and private universities, as well as 36 other tertiary institutions spread across the country.

Summary: The Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) is set to assume its role as the sole importer of petroleum products, a move that is expected to stabilise pump prices in the local market. The agreement follows Parliament’s passing of the Petroleum Supply (Amendment) Act 2023, that gave UNOC the exclusive rights to import and supply all petroleum products into Uganda.
