Investigations show that 695 Police personnel were still receiving salaries, amounting to sh355m monthly or sh4.26b annually, despite not being accounted for by the Force.

As at June 30, a total of 609 illegal titles were found to have been acquired in various Central Forest Reserves.

The support will help improve the visibility of Uganda as an attractive and sustainable travel destination for tourists from Europe and other countries, Sadek said on Thursday.
NWSC GETS UGX.37B BOOST FOR KAMPALA WATER PROJECT

SUMMARY: The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has secured UGX. 373b to boost the Kampala city water infrastructure. The money is expected to help NWSC increase reliable water supply to an additional one million residents in the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area, bringing the total number of people served to six million. Partners from France, including Boulevard de la Défence and the French government, are contributing to the project sh373b, excluding VAT.

SUMMARY: The Government will give UGX. 1b to each of the 10 districts affected by the creation of new cities as a startup grant this financial year 2024/2025, Finance Minister Matia Kasaija, has revealed. Hon. Kasaija noted that as a result of the operationalisation of these cities in the financial year 2020/21, district offices within the cities’ boundaries had to be relocated. Districts where municipalities were elevated to city status in 2020 include; Jinja, Mbale, Soroti, Arua, Gulu, Lira, Mbarara, Masaka, Kabarole (Fort Portal) and Hoima.

GREATER KAMPALA SET FOR UGX. 370B POWER UPGRADE
