The Presidency, April 2024

Must Read

We are pleased to present the April 2024 edition of our monthly e-magazine, The Presidency. This aims to keep you informed on the activities of the office and residence of the President of the Republic of Uganda.

Hosting a group of exemplary farmers from the nine villages of Gomba and Sembabule Districts at his Kisozi farm, President Museveni, accompanied by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Maama Janet Kataha Museveni, underscored the importance of prioritising household income as a catalyst for development. President Museveni emphasised the critical role of leaders in fostering prosperity at the grassroots level as he highlighted the success of the Greater Kisozi Model Villages project initiated in 2011.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni launches Uganda’s first tin refining plant in Ruti, Mbarara City. This signifies self-reliance, economic growth, and a strategic move towards value addition in our mineral resources as we harness our potential and carve a niche in the global market.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni commissions the newly built Supreme Court and Court of Appeal buildings at the Judiciary Headquarters in Kampala. With the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal in place, the Judiciary will save UGX 6 billion annually which the institution has been paying as rent for the two courts.

The Government of Uganda’s commitment to support the Kampala Marathon, scheduled in November 2024 aims to position Uganda as a global sports and tourist destination. The ambitious undertaking seeks to attract elite runners from Uganda and worldwide, inviting global elite participants to compete in the annual event, with an expected attendance of 20,000 runners.

The April 2024 edition reflects the commitment of President Museveni to job creation following the various testimonies by students from the Presidential Skilling Hubs across all the regions of Uganda.
